The Sound of the Day for January 5, 2006 is a 30-second "sound-scape" created by Ian Varley, Keyboardist for Houston's original instrumental funk jazz band Drop Trio using a synthesizer called the ARP 2600. It was made sometime between 1970 and 1981 by ARP (founded by Alan P. Pearlman).

Ian just recorded a short piece of music "starring" this Sound and has made it available exclusively for Sound of the Day Listeners. Enjoy!
